Once I had got what I needed to answer the question I thought I'd tryout the power button on the remote after peterw's post. I was a little rusty on this so was using a system with Jivelite but no touchscreen (My Lounge Player) and monitoring using ssh (sudo ir-keytable -t) I was playing with ir-keytables the other night to help out diode84 in creating/using a conf file It started out as a test bed for the radio firmware changes I've been working on to shake down aac support and I ended up preferring it.Hi Ralphy, A build is available for 6.0 in the repository but I haven't posted any instructions on setup as it's not supported through the webgui. I use a private squeezeplay build on pcp 4.1 as my primary controller and player, with my favourite LIRC remote in my office these days. Unfortunately, jivelite does not handle the soft power options the same as squeezeplay and has been a constant struggle to maintain. Whereas pressing the remote power key when off, turns the screen/player back to on state. In "real" jive aka squeezeplay pressing any key, on the remote, other than power when the player is off, displays the stopped screen saver and on screen power button for a couple seconds before turning off again. Yes lirc does handle de-duplication and I've discussed it in the lirc pcp thread, post #4. It started out as a test bed for the radio firmware changes I've been working on to shake down aac support and I ended up preferring it. You can control the repeat rate using the -D option of ir-keytables, if you think that's the problem. That being said, I use the Justboom IR remote with pcp 6, jivelite and kernel ir keytables and the remote power key button turns jivelite screen both on and off. LIRC is only used now in pCP when controlling squeezelite directly since 5.0. I have several IR remotes that worked great with LIRC but only half the key actually return scancodes with the new subsystem. (Ahh progress!) This happened when the lirc kernel subsystem no longer had an active maintainer and was removed. It's all handled through the linux kernel ir keytable keyboard emulation "crap" in my opinion. Since pCP 5.0 jivelite no longer uses LIRC for IR remote input. Thanks for letting me know it's not just me!ĭon't they all? This is really surprising to me since "real" Jive running on an SB Touch has no such problems.ĭo you know if this also happens with the LIRC approach to IR on pCP? My experience on other Pi projects with lircd and irw suggests that LIRC/lircd might handle de-duplication.Yes lirc does handle de-duplication and I've discussed it in the lirc pcp thread, post #4. That is how it is, the power button "repeats" so it toggles on/off.Īny key turns it on the power key turns it off (as long as you don't hold it down too long) I am using the Custom Clock applet but this behavior happens whether I'm using that for any screensavers or not. This even happens when connecting to a "clean" instance of LMS that runs no 3rd-party plugins.

I am able to go from off to on by tapping the left arrow on the remote, but not the power button. If I tap the power button on the SB candy bar remote when Jivelite is off, I see a flash of an "on" screen but a fraction of a second later it turns off again. I have IR working pretty well with Jivelite/pCP with the official 7" screen 6 using keytables/GPIO/TSOP4838, but I have encountered one weird thing - while I can use a genuine Logitech Squeezebox remote to turn Jivelite off with a single press of the Power button, I cannot turn it on that way.
